Welcome to Dodo ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and services.

Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance

Dodo's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Limited Use Disclosure

We access Google Calendar and Contacts data solely to provide calendar synchronization and event invitation features within Dodo. Specifically:

Google Calendar data is used to:

Display your calendar events within the Dodo app
Create new calendar events from tasks you capture in Dodo
Update event times when you reschedule tasks in Dodo
Delete calendar events when you remove tasks from Dodo
Add attendees to calendar events you create in Dodo

Google Contacts data is used to:

Provide autocomplete suggestions when you add invitees to tasks or calendar events
Help you quickly find and invite people from your contacts to meetings

Important: Contact data is only accessed when you actively search for contacts to invite. We do not store, sync, or copy your contacts list. Contact searches happen in real-time and results are not persisted.

What We Do NOT Do With Google User Data

Dodo does NOT use Google user data (including Calendar and Contacts data) for any purpose other than providing or improving the calendar and invitation features of our app. Specifically, we:

Do NOT use Google user data for advertising or marketing purposes
Do NOT sell, rent, or lease Google user data to any third party
Do NOT use Google user data to build user profiles for advertising
Do NOT share Google user data with data brokers or information resellers
Do NOT use Google user data for credit assessments or lending purposes
Do NOT use Google user data to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models that are unrelated to providing our service
Do NOT transfer Google user data to any third party except as necessary to provide or improve our calendar synchronization features, as required by law, or with your explicit consent

Data Handling for Google Services

When you connect your Google account to Dodo:

We request only the minimum permissions necessary (calendar read/write access, contacts read-only access)
All Google data is transmitted securely using encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS)
We store only the calendar event data necessary to provide synchronization features
Contact data is never stored - it is only used in real-time for autocomplete suggestions
You can revoke access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account settings or within the Dodo app
When you disconnect your Google account or delete your Dodo account, we delete all associated Google data from our systems

Information We Collect

Personal Information

We collect information that you provide directly to us, including:

Account information (email address, name)
Google Calendar data (when you grant permission) - used exclusively for providing calendar synchronization features
Profile information
Communication preferences

Content You Create

When you use Dodo, we collect and process:

Screenshots you capture (processed and deleted after task creation)
Voice recordings and transcriptions
Tasks and calendar events
Notes and context you add

Automatically Collected Information

Device information (model, OS version)
App usage data for improving our service
Log data and error reports for troubleshooting

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to provide and improve our services:

Provide, maintain, and improve our app's features
Process screenshots into actionable tasks using AI
Transcribe voice recordings and extract action items
Synchronize tasks with your Google Calendar (the only use of Google Calendar data)
Send you notifications about captured content
Respond to your requests and provide customer support
Fix bugs and improve app performance based on error reports

Important: We do not use any of your data, including Google user data, for advertising, marketing to third parties, or any purpose unrelated to providing our app's functionality.

Data Processing and AI

We use artificial intelligence to process your content solely to provide Dodo's core features:

Screenshot Processing: Images are analyzed using OCR and vision AI to extract text and suggest tasks. Screenshots are automatically deleted after processing.
Voice Transcription: Audio recordings are transcribed to create tasks and notes. Transcripts are stored securely and encrypted.

AI Service Providers: We use third-party AI services (such as OpenAI and Anthropic) exclusively to process screenshots and voice recordings for task creation. These providers:

Process data only to provide Dodo's features
Are contractually bound to use your data only for providing the requested service
Do not use your data to train their AI models (per their data processing agreements)
Do not retain your data beyond what is necessary to provide the service

Note: Google Calendar data is never sent to AI services. Google Calendar data is only used for direct calendar synchronization.

Data Storage and Security

We take data security seriously:

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
Screenshots are deleted immediately after processing
Voice recordings and transcripts are stored in secure, encrypted databases
We use Supabase for data storage with enterprise-grade security
Access to your data is restricted to authorized personnel only

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or Google user data. We only share information in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers (for app functionality only): We use third-party services (hosting infrastructure, AI processing for task creation) that are necessary to provide Dodo's features. These providers are contractually required to use your data only to provide the service and cannot use it for their own purposes.
Google Calendar Sync: When you connect your Google Calendar, we access calendar data according to Google's API Services User Data Policy to provide synchronization features.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, court order, or legal process.
Protection of Rights: We may disclose information to protect the safety, rights, or property of Dodo, our users, or the public.

We never share Google user data with third parties for advertising, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to providing Dodo's calendar features.

Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

Access your personal data
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Export your data
Opt-out of marketing communications
Revoke Google Calendar permissions at any time (via Google Account settings or within Dodo)
Disable screenshot automation

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your information only for as long as necessary to provide our services:

Screenshots are deleted immediately after processing
Voice recordings and transcripts are retained until you delete them or close your account
Google Calendar data is retained only while your calendar is connected and is deleted when you disconnect or close your account
Account data is deleted within 30 days of account closure

To request deletion of your data, contact us at privacy@dodo-works.com or use the account deletion feature in the app settings.

Children's Privacy

Dodo is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page, updating the "Last updated" date, and notifying you via email or in-app notification.
